The speakers in the HDK 165 - 2014 UP kit dedicated to Harley-Davidson deliver simply remarkable high-fidelity sound thanks to the K2 Power diaphragm, an exclusive Focal technology manufactured in France and recognized in the world of Audio. Designed and developed for motorcycles in noisy outdoor environments, this Focal Inside solution incorporates a K2 inverted-dome compression tweeter for high power and perfect sound definition. Special Harley-Davidson custom grilles have also been added for rapid and perfect integration in the original location.

K2 SANDWICH MEMBRANE
Purity and precision of sound
The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. Shape and materials are essential for high-fidelity reproduction. In 1986, our teams unveiled an aramid fibre sandwich membrane, recognizable by its unique yellow color. It has been extensively renewed over the years, while retaining the characteristics that made it such a success. Today, it consists of an ultra-light foam core sandwiched between a layer of aramid fibre and a layer of glass fibre. It combines the three key factors of a loudspeaker membrane: rigidity, lightness and damping, for a precise, dynamic and uncolored sound.
COMPRESSION TWEETER WITH "M" PROFILE
Better sound directionality
The compression tweeter has been designed for limited installation space, without degrading the sharpness and clarity of Focal's signature sound. This type of loudspeaker is combined with our patented "M-profile" technology. This brings two decisive advantages: even lower sound directionality, for an ever more flexible listening position, and a significant gain in stiffness for the dome, which further reduces distortion and thus delivers quality sound.
